Unwind and recharge as the day comes to a close. Our Evening Flow Open75 is the signature Open class of our Jivamukti Yoga lineage, taught in a 75-minute format that offers more time than the Evening Express Open60 while remaining shorter than the classic 95-minute Open class. This balanced evening practice allows you to immerse more deeply in the flow, release the day’s tension, and restore clarity and strength before nightfall.

Whether you’re a beginner, deciphering the difference between vṛkṣāsana (tree) and śīrṣāsana (headstand), or an advanced yogi who can put both feet behind their head, the class welcomes you, as it is open to practitioners of all levels. You practice at your own pace, following the teacher’s verbal and hands-on guidance. Āsana options will be provided for beginners, intermediate, and advanced students.

A typical Open class incorporates the five tenets of our Jivamukti Yoga lineage: śāstra (scripture), bhakti (devotion), ahiṁsā (nonviolence), nāda (sound), and dhyāna (meditation), presenting classical yogic teachings as relevant to life on and off the mat. This is supported by chanting, breath awareness, flowing vinyāsa sequences, alignment exploration, hands-on assistance, relaxation, and meditation.

All Open classes in our Jivamukti Yoga lineage include 14 points: āsanas, meditation, and spiritual teachings, in a sequence creatively designed by the teacher. Exuberant, eclectic music plays an integral role: you might practice to a shifting soundtrack of rāgas, global trance, hip-hop, spoken word, George Harrison, Sting, Krishna Das, Donna de Lory, Michael Franti, Bill Laswell, Alice Coltrane, and Mozart.

Open classes are called “Open” because they are open and suitable for all levels of practitioners. However, beginning students should note that there will not be detailed “how to” instructions; for that, students are advised to attend our Foundations, Basic, or Open(M) classes.

What makes the Evening Flow Open75 special is its timing and depth: practiced in the evening, it offers a longer flow that balances intensity with restoration, helping you release the day more fully and move into the night feeling clear, grounded, and at ease.

Sobre el profesor

Gerdus discovered yoga in 2007 during his university studies in South Africa. A deep calling drew him to that first practice; he has been a devoted student ever since. As with most, it started with Āsana. The aim was to touch his toes, but little did he know the practice would hold the key to understanding the nature of the self and the universe. He holds deep gratitude to all the teachers who have shone light upon his path to liberation, especially Anja Kühnel, under whose guidance he is currently completing the Three Boons 500h mentorship program. Gerdus is a multi-instrumentalist, film music composer, and a ceremonial musician, facilitating sound journeys and medicine music ceremonies with his associated collectives Astra Laguna, Keropii, and Soneiro Collective. He also produces dance music under the moniker Bummela. A bhakti at heart, Gerdus believes the highest function of music to be celebrating the wonder of creation, bringing us to the ultimate realisation of the non-dual nature of reality.
